A LITTLE PREPARATION

Keep paying simple.

Bring some pesos

Keep some Mexican pesos in small denominations for taxis and smaller purchases. Ask whether cards are accepted before ordering or using a service, and confirm the currency shown on the bill.

Ask what the price includes

Before settling into a beach-club lounger or booking an activity, check admission, minimum spend, equipment and transport. Confirm the final total, then review your bill before adding a tip.

Choose the ride that fits the day.

Your base is in Colonia Electricistas. Plan each outing from the property; downtown and the beaches are separate destinations.

01

On foot

FOR EXPLORING ONE AREA

Downtown is walkable once you are there. Check the route before setting off from Casa Milo, allow for heat and choose comfortable shoes.

02

By taxi

FOR ARRIVAL & SINGLE OUTINGS

A practical option with luggage or beach bags. Show the exact destination, confirm the fare before the ride and keep your return address handy.

03

By golf cart

FOR A DAY WITH SEVERAL STOPS

Compare the full rental cost and ask about the deposit, driving requirements, insurance terms, fuel or charging, and return time. Follow local road rules and use a taxi if you plan to drink.

Plan your airport & ferry arrival

Small things that help every day.

Pack light, pack useful

Bring a hat, sun protection, comfortable sandals, a light rain layer, a reusable bottle and a small bag for beach days. Check with Rocky which beach towels or equipment are provided before packing or renting extras.

Make room for local flavours

Pick up drinking water and breakfast supplies for relaxed mornings. Sirenas has a kitchenette; Casa Milo has a kitchen. Ask Rocky for nearby food options to suit your plans and budget.

Keep the essentials on your phone

Save your booking details, the Casa Milo Google Maps listing and your host contact before travelling. Check your mobile-data plan for Mexico. Both apartments have WiFi; keep arrival details available offline too.

Ask a few questions before booking

Confirm the meeting point on Isla Mujeres, what is included, age or participation requirements, and the weather cancellation policy. For water activities, ask about equipment and sun-protection rules, and follow your guide’s instructions.

LEAVE A LITTLE ROOM IN THE PLAN

Let the weather guide the day.

Check the forecast close to your visit and again before a boat outing. Wind and weather can affect ferry crossings and activities, so confirm service directly with the operator.

Atlantic hurricane season: June 1–November 30. This is a seasonal window, not a forecast for your trip. Follow official updates and local instructions if an alert is issued.

A useful planning habit

Leave some room between your flight, ferry and check-in. Before your return, recheck ferry departures and allow time for the mainland transfer and airport check-in.

A few useful answers.

Need a hand with your stay?

Contact Rocky through your booking conversation or the website contact page. For an immediate emergency in Mexico, call 911.

Contact RockyMexico’s emergency number ↗
Do I need a golf cart for the whole stay?

Plan the places you want to visit first. Compare a day rental with the taxi trips you expect to take, including the return journey. You can also explore downtown on foot once you arrive there.

Are ferries, transfers and tours included?

Arrange and pay for these separately unless your booking confirmation specifically includes them. Check the exact departure terminal on your ferry ticket.

Can I arrive early, leave bags or check in late?

Ask Rocky in advance and confirm what is possible for your dates. Early arrival, luggage storage and late check-in should be agreed before you travel.

Can I arrange baby equipment or other extras?

Check what is included in your apartment before hiring anything. If you use a rental provider, confirm availability, suitability, delivery and collection arrangements directly with them.
